Application Engineer

Overview

Application Engineer working on hazardous area/explosion-proof electrical equipment projects, from proposal and compliance through documentation and manufacturing coordination.

What you'll do

• Evaluate customer drawings and specifications to propose solutions using Eaton standard products or ETO engineered-to-order options.
• Prepare technical and commercial offers and review customer technical queries for compliance.
• Resolve project deviations to specifications and stated standards with the customer.
• Create general arrangement drawings and bills of materials using AutoCAD or Eplan/Esplan.
• Prepare complete project documentation (including data sheets, certificates, and procedures) for customer approval.
• Set up bills of materials in SAP from customer-approved drawings and coordinate on material availability.
• Coordinate with project management/production for manufacturing, quality control for inspection tests, and compile manufacturing record book documents.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience with explosion proof/hazardous area electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of NEC or IEC/IECEx standards.
• Experience preparing bills of materials and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD or Eplan/Esplan.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and strong written/verbal English communication.
• Experience with SAP and familiarity with drawing/calculation tools and ITP/FAT/QA/QC documents.
