Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

Electrical Design Engineer role focused on control design and electrical systems for transformers within Hitachi Energy’s Global Engineering Center in Vadodara.

What you'll do

• Develop and refine detailed controls design, including hardware and software specifications, for distribution transformers.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD tools.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate control systems with project requirements and standards.
• Develop and support functional testing plans for new control cabinets, including on-site startup and calibration.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing control panels and implement corrective solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation such as functional specifications, test plans, and work instructions.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback for safety and regulatory compliance.

What you'll need

• B.E/B. Tech in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• 2 to 8 years working in controls & panel design, programming, and implementation in an industrial environment.
• Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics plus PID control and motor control principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation and electrical schematics.
• Basic knowledge of IEEE, UL508, and NFPA70 standards.
• Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
