Overview

Provides intermediate-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases, with responsibilities spanning backend performance optimization, data integration, documentation, and secure development practices.

What you'll do

• Provide intermediate-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases.
• Integrate third-party products.
• Translate technical specifications into code for moderately complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients.
• Write programs, develop code, test artifacts, and produce reports.
• Employ software development techniques to ensure tests support automation.
• Elevate code into development, test, and production environments on schedule.
• Provide follow-up production support.
• Submit change control requests and documents.
• Follow software development methodology and development architecture standards.
• Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues.
• Participate in systems analysis activities.
• Understand client business functions and technology needs.
• Understand Vanguard's tools, technologies, applications, and databases, including those that interface with business areas and systems.
• Learn and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Contribute to optimizing system performance through efficient database design and code enhancements to support scalability.
• Support the integration and maintenance of data pipelines between APIs and backend systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Maintain and update software documentation for backend components, highlighting logic, processes, and architecture.
• Apply intermediate knowledge of backend system security and data protection best practices during development.
• Monitor and refine dashboards and SLOs, and solve known problems by following playbooks.

What you'll need

• Minimum 3 years of experience in application development, system analysis, or database management.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA).
• Experience with database design, SQL, and data optimization techniques for high-performance applications.
• Familiarity with API development, integration, and third-party software integration.
• Java.

• AWS.
• SQL queries.
• CI/CD.
• TDD/BDD.
• Proficiency in Agile, Confluence, and JIRA.
• Aptitude for continuous process improvement for process flows/workflows.

• Expertise in debugging in AWS and legacy systems using modern tools.
• Proficiency in Agile.

• Python (optional).
