Assistant Engineer Welding

Overview

Assistant Engineer Welding is responsible for complex welding, fabrication, and assembly of metal components for tubes and ducts used in commercial jet engines.

What you'll do

• Weld tubes, air manifolds, and sheet metal parts.
• Perform TIG and orbital welding on stainless steel and Inconel materials.
• Repair defective stainless steel and Inconel castings.
• Read and interpret drawings, manuals, SOP, and MOS to determine the finished product.
• Assemble welded products.
• Use problem-solving tools such as 5Why and Fishbone and apply RCA know-how.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience in TIG and orbital welding on stainless steel and Inconel tubes/ducts for aircraft engines.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in welding and fabrication in an engineering/manufacturing setup.
• Proven experience welding stainless steel and Inconel tubes, ducts, and sheet metal parts.
• Certified per AWS D17.1 in 6G position with II A & III B materials.
• Experience producing X-ray quality Class A weld joints with SS 321 & Inconel 625.
• Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding, or equivalent technical discipline.
