Assistant Manager, Finance

Overview

Finance professional acting as de facto Finance Lead for the Engage vertical, bridging audit compliance and sales targets through financial modelling, reporting automation and business partnering.

What you'll do

• Manage complex revenue recognition models, recognizing revenue progressively rather than as a lump sum.
• Act as a POC to the Sales team; maintain and upgrade Scenario Simulators that help Key Account Managers structure profitable deals and predict incentive achievements in real time.
• Take ownership of the statutory audit for the division and defend complex revenue positions to external auditors with technical rationale (IFRS/IndAS).
• Own the month-end close process, ensuring 100% accuracy in accruals and provisions and minimizing the timeline to final reporting.
• Monitor the AP/AR split to keep the division cash-flow positive, proactively flagging liquidity risks to central treasury.
• Move away from manual Excel dependencies; build and maintain live dashboards (Looker/Excel) showing Forecast vs. Actuals.
• Identify bottlenecks in billing or reconciliation (e.g., Engineering/Product gaps) and lead cross-functional projects to fix them permanently.

What you'll need

• CA / ACCA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent from a reputed institute.
• 2–4 years of experience.
• Advanced Excel fluency: VLOOKUPs, Index-Match, Pivot Tables; ability to build models that don't crash under heavy data.
• Strong grasp of Revenue Recognition standards (IndAS 115).
• First-principles thinking: questions why processes exist and formulates better fixes.
• Effective communicator who can explain complex accounting constraints to a sales head without jargon.
• Mentor mindset: ability to guide and upskill interns/junior analysts.

Nice to have

• Prior exposure to Fintech, SaaS, or high-transaction environments.
• Basic knowledge of SQL or experience with BI tools (Looker/PowerBI).
