Overview

Associate Professional in the AWM Margin team, monitoring exposure of complex client trading strategies for Asia Wealth Management businesses and reporting on market and counterparty risk.

What you'll do

• Ensure client positions and valuations are accurate and that correct requirements are charged in line with clients' strategy and margin policy.
• Issue margin calls and ensure they are covered same-day.
• Understand day-to-day client portfolio movements and products traded, actively challenging anything that does not make sense.
• Perform extensive exposure analysis across the client base to flag risk across issuers, countries, markets and sectors.
• Manage and highlight operational risk in the margin process, acting as the last line of defence in a market or client crisis.
• Execute Operations processes and support process management and project efforts, with detailed knowledge of the processes, projects, systems, markets and instruments influencing the team.
• Analyse and expose ambiguous or complex issues, identify root causes and propose future actions.
• Ensure Compliance Courses and Policies are completed on a timely basis.
• Build and manage day-to-day relationships with Business Unit partners, Risk, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments and external client contacts.
• Work with Clients, Risk Management, Account Managers and Technology to build and maintain a controlled and commercial business.
• Drive the significant change agenda in collaboration with peers in the Hong Kong Margin team.

What you'll need

• All degree (or equivalent course) disciplines considered.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Minimum 3-5 year period developing the necessary competencies in a similar role within this industry.
• Demonstrated robust analytical skills, high attention to detail, diligence, risk management capabilities and a control mind-set.
• Ability to handle multiple work streams and prioritize effectively.

Nice to have

• Strong product knowledge across equities, fixed income and derivatives.
• Exposure to Wealth Management, derivative products or Margin and Collateral.
