Overview
Build working AI solution prototypes and demonstrations for business and technical audiences, supporting pursuit leads and handing off funded prototypes for production build.
What you'll do
- Build working prototypes from loosely defined ideas, polished for a business audience and substantive for a technical one.
- Package existing firm solutions, including automation AI solutions from existing practices, into demonstrations and case stories using representative data.
- Present work to business leaders, internal teams and prospective clients in support of the pursuit lead.
- Run time-boxed proofs of concept with a defined question, a success criterion and a written recommendation.
- Build and maintain reusable scaffolding and demonstration environments so each prototype is faster to produce than the last.
- Hand off funded prototypes so another engineer can build them to production under platform standards.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
- Strong Python and full-stack prototyping skills, with the ability to put a working interface in front of a user quickly.
- Cloud fundamentals on Azure or AWS, including compute, storage, networking, identity, containers and CI/CD, sufficient to stand up a demonstration environment independently.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, authentication concepts and SQL.
- Breadth across the current AI stack: retrieval-augmented generation, agents and orchestration, tool calling, structured outputs, document processing and vector search.
- Enough evaluation discipline to judge whether a prototype is viable or performed well by chance.
- Sound data handling practices, including the use of synthetic or masked data in demonstrations.
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills with both business and technical audiences.
- Responsiveness to short pursuit timelines.
Nice to have
- Prior solutions engineering, pre-sales or innovation lab experience.
- Familiarity with automation platforms such as UiPath / Power Automate and demonstration interfaces such as React / Streamlit.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications.
