Overview
Associate in Accordion’s Operational & Technical Accounting practice, supporting complex accounting and operational work across private equity portfolio companies.
What you'll do
- Analyze financial data, process flows, and accounting workflows to find gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Work hands-on with tools like Excel, ERP systems, and PowerBI to reconcile data and create process maps.
- Anticipate operational and technical accounting roadblocks and help resolve them with the global team.
- Prepare technical memos and policy documentation and support process improvements.
- Synthesize complex accounting topics into clear, actionable recommendations for client leadership.
- Support issue diagnosis across month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and financial onboarding.
What you'll need
- Background in accounting, controllership, technical accounting, or audit.
- CA is preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related fields.
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting, PE-backed companies, or transaction-heavy environments is highly valued.
- Ability to interpret and apply U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Strong understanding of operational finance/accounting processes (close, reporting, reconciliations, controls, audit).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including cross-functional work with CFOs, controllers, and PE stakeholders.
