Associate - Operational and Technical Accounting

Overview

Associate in Accordion’s Operational & Technical Accounting practice, supporting complex accounting and operational work across private equity portfolio companies.

What you'll do

• Analyze financial data, process flows, and accounting workflows to find gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Work hands-on with tools like Excel, ERP systems, and PowerBI to reconcile data and create process maps.
• Anticipate operational and technical accounting roadblocks and help resolve them with the global team.
• Prepare technical memos and policy documentation and support process improvements.
• Synthesize complex accounting topics into clear, actionable recommendations for client leadership.
• Support issue diagnosis across month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and financial onboarding.

What you'll need

• Background in accounting, controllership, technical accounting, or audit.
• CA is preferred.
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting, PE-backed companies, or transaction-heavy environments is highly valued.
• Ability to interpret and apply U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
• Strong understanding of operational finance/accounting processes (close, reporting, reconciliations, controls, audit).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including cross-functional work with CFOs, controllers, and PE stakeholders.
