Automation Engineer

Overview

Automation Engineer supporting engineering activities across project sizes under supervision of senior engineers at ABB’s Automation division.

What you'll do

• Complete tasks cost-effectively and in line with contract, quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards.
• Plan, monitor, and execute application development tasks including new product development and modifications.
• Provide technical support for testing, installation, commissioning, debugging, and diagnostics.
• Collect data and support production of engineering design.
• Translate conceptual designs into detailed engineering documentation via modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
• Prepare engineering proposals and presentations and communicate with customers and stakeholders.
• Identify and manage project risks/issues while ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation or related discipline).
• Minimum 1-3 years of application development and support experience.
• Understanding of Industrial Automation systems including PLCs, motors, drives, motion control, and robotic systems.
• Demonstrable experience building customer relationships.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a global environment.
• Willingness to travel for site support and commissioning as required.
