Automation Python Engineer

Overview

Automation Python Engineer in a hybrid setup based in Chennai, working within an engineering team on automated testing.

What you'll do

• Build automation using Python.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts in bash, PowerShell, and Python.
• Run automated tests in Docker containers and Virtual Machines.
• Incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub integrations.
• Debug and fix issues in CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers to identify test scenarios from feature specifications and document test cases in TestRails.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Automation experience using Python.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies including unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and interop testing.
• Test concepts such as test suites, test cases, parameterized testing, and mocks & stubs.
• Experience with test frameworks including Google Test, NUnit, and Python Behave.
• Experience with CI/CD automation and debugging in pipelines.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms like VMware vCloud, AWS, or Azure.

• Location: Chennai, India.
• Location type: Hybrid (3 days/week in local office; remaining days work from home).
• Reports to the Engineering Manager, DEEM.
• Team based out of Chennai & Bangalore.
