Backend Developer - Node.js

Overview

Backend Developer (Node.js) role in Ahmedabad, focused on building and maintaining scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js.
• Participate in solution design, technical estimation, and architecture discussions for new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following coding standards and best practices.
• Perform code reviews, identify technical risks, and improve overall code quality.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexes for PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Integrate third-party services, APIs, and internal microservices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, support incident response, and implement long-term fixes.

What you'll need

• 4–5+ years of professional backend development experience using Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as Express.js or similar.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven Node.js architecture.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB for schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization mechanisms including JWT, OAuth2, and role-based access control.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using Jest, Mocha, or similar, plus strong Git knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka), and distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of Docker, containerized deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of Golang.
