Backend Engineer, AI (Agent Systems)

Overview

Build and operate the inference and orchestration layer powering AI interactions, turning model capabilities into fast, stable, observable APIs for mobile and desktop clients.

What you'll do

• Build and operate backend systems serving AI-powered features in production.
• Design inference pipelines, orchestration layers, and model-related service boundaries.
• Monitor, log, and alert on production systems.
• Respond to and resolve production incidents.
• Optimize latency and throughput across inference, caching, batching, and streaming.

What you'll need

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals in production environments.
• Experience running high-throughput, low-latency services.
• Familiarity with AI inference patterns including LLMs, embeddings, and multimodal systems.
• Ability to debug distributed systems under load.
• Experience or proficiency with Python and Node.js.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, LLMs, SQL, NoSQL, Kubernetes, and Docker.
