Backend Engineer E3 - India

Overview

Backend Engineer E3 designing and shipping core trading, risk and fund-flow services to help launch crypto products.

What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end flow of funds for INR onboarding, deposits, withdrawals and collateral, with strong attention to correctness, reconciliation and auditability.
• Design and build scalable, secure backend APIs and services for retail derivatives trading, including futures and perpetuals, order management, margin, positions, liquidation, funding and settlement flows.
• Model and manage product risk, including leverage limits, margin requirements, mark price, liquidations and exposure controls.
• Integrate with exchanges, liquidity venues and market data providers, and build reliable, low-latency market connectivity.
• Partner with mobile engineers and Product to define APIs and ship features on a standalone mobile app.
• Set architecture and engineering standards, run design and code reviews, and mentor engineers.
• Take ownership of the availability, performance and quality of services from design through deployment and support.
• Coordinate with stakeholders in the US and other global locations, including occasional calls in ET hours.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of professional back-end and server-side development experience.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong experience with RESTful API design.
• Strong experience with microservices / service-oriented architectures.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience designing for correctness in financial or transactional systems.
• Knowledge of derivatives, including futures, options and perpetuals, and of order types, margin, funding, liquidation and settlement.
• Familiarity with fund flows, risk and security considerations in trading or financial platforms.
• Solid algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis skills.
• Experience with unit and functional testing, Git/GitHub workflows, code review and CI tooling.
• Ability to move quickly and adjust course in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Understanding of or strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

Nice to have

• Experience building futures or perpetuals products at a crypto exchange or trading platform.
• Crypto experience; strong traditional-finance derivatives experience is welcome.
• Mobile development knowledge, including React Native, iOS or Android, or full-stack familiarity with React.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers, or acting as a tech lead / engineering manager.
• Experience building consumer-facing financial or crypto products and public-facing APIs in production.

Details

• Work onsite Monday to Friday at the Bangalore office.
