Backup & Storage Engineering

Overview

AVP Backup & Storage Engineering is accountable for designing, implementing, and operating enterprise backup and storage services across a highly regulated APAC environment.

What you'll do

• Support design, implementation, enhancement, and lifecycle management of enterprise backup and recovery solutions (Commvault and/or NetBackup).
• Maintain enterprise storage solutions across SAN, NAS, Object Storage, and cloud-integrated storage services.
• Ensure backup and recovery services meet business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience requirements.
• Define and maintain platform roadmaps, technology standards, and engineering best practices.
• Drive automation and integration using PowerShell, Python, APIs, and orchestration technologies.
• Conduct recovery validation, disaster recovery testing, and resilience assessments.
• Ensure compliance with MUFG policies, cybersecurity controls, and regulatory requirements; support audits with evidence preparation.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in enterprise backup, recovery, and storage engineering in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Proven experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure in highly regulated industries such as banking or financial services.
• Strong expertise in Commvault and/or NetBackup administration and engineering.
• Deep understanding of SAN, NAS, Object Storage, and enterprise storage architectures.
• Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, and orchestration frameworks.
• Working knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, backup governance, and operational resilience practices.
