Senior Systems Engineer

Overview

Senior Systems Engineer on Visa's Global Storage Engineering Team, responsible for building, supporting, securing, and automating storage and backup infrastructure across datacenter and public or hybrid cloud environments.

What you'll do

• Implement and automate storage, backup, and SAN infrastructure.
• Provision, maintain, replicate, migrate, and document storage and backup environments.
• Support SAN, NAS, object storage, and backup technologies across infrastructure tiers.
• Provide Level 3 escalation support for complex storage and backup issues.
• Operate storage solutions across on-premises datacenters and public or hybrid clouds.
• Conduct security remediation, performance analysis, troubleshooting, monitoring, alerting, and remediation.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams across global time zones.

What you'll need

• Four or more years of experience in SAN, storage, or backup administration.
• Experience supporting large, complex enterprise datacenter environments.
• Knowledge of SAN, NAS, Object/S3 Storage, and backup solutions in hybrid cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with all-flash SAN and NAS arrays.
• Hands-on experience with FC or IP networking and backup or data protection technologies.
• Experience with disaster recovery, data replication, snapshots, monitoring, scripting, and automation.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Storage networking experience.
• Linux or Microsoft operating system fundamentals.
• Virtualization or container technology experience with Red Hat, VMware, or Microsoft products.
• Experience with Hitachi VSP, Dell PowerMax, Brocade, Cisco, Pure FlashBlade, Dell PowerScale, Rubrik, or Cohesity.
