Sr Systems Engineer - AWS, Kubernetes, Automation, Platform Engineering

Overview

Senior Systems Engineer (I5) for Visa’s Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team, working on secure, scalable cloud-native platforms across AWS and Kubernetes.

What you'll do

• Build, enhance, and maintain AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes (EKS) platforms.
• Design and develop reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Develop CI-CD pipelines and automation workflows.
• Support Kubernetes cluster lifecycle activities (provisioning, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting).
• Handle platform support, incident management, and root cause analysis.
• Partner on security controls, remediation, vulnerability management, and hardening.
• Onboard application workloads and mentor junior engineers.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-7 years of software engineering, cloud engineering, or platform engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
• Strong experience with Terraform or other IaC frameworks.
• Experience developing automation using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with Git-based source control and Agile development practices.
