BT - Design Verification Sr Lead Engineer

Overview

Qualcomm's Bangalore Wireless R&D Bluetooth hardware team is seeking an experienced wireless hardware design verification engineer to verify ASIC designs on the latest technology nodes for chipsets used in mobile phones, wearables and IOT.

What you'll do

• Understand and work on all aspects of the VLSI verification cycle, including testbench architecture, verification planning, testbench and test development, and verification closure.
• Apply best-in-class methodologies including simulation, emulation, GLS and formal techniques.
• Take ownership of IP, block and sub-system verification.
• Analyze HW design specifications and develop a verification test plan and strategy for them.
• Break down the work for new features, perform feasibility studies, estimate effort and mitigate risk.
• Work with the design team on RTL debug during pre-silicon HW development.
• Interact closely with Global Design, Systems, SoC, Validation and FW teams for design convergence.
• Mentor new joiners and less experienced colleagues.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience, OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience, OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
• 6-10 years of strong experience in design verification.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Electronics, VLSI, Communications or related field.
• 6 years of VLSI industry experience in verification.
• Strong knowledge of HDLs such as Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Proven experience writing efficient constraint random tests.
• Proven experience building or maintaining medium to complex SV/UVM environments.
• Proficient in debugging RTL/TB issues using Verdi or similar tools.
• Deep understanding of Bluetooth Hardware Architecture.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills and independent problem solving ability.
• Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to evaluate and create testplans detailing complex features and relationships.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Bluetooth/BLE technologies.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl and/or Python.
