Business Analyst - Associate

Overview

As a Business Analyst - Associate within the Technology Consulting practice, you will analyze client needs and operational data, develop reporting solutions and operational strategies, and provide guidance to improve productivity and business performance. You will contribute to client engagements and projects while developing skills in analytics, technology resources, and client collaboration.

What you'll do

• Analyze operational datasets using SQL / MySQL Workbench to extract and interpret data.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Create and modify Power BI data models, Power Query transformations, and DAX calculations.
• Translate analytical insights into actionable business recommendations and operational improvements.
• Support development of reporting solutions that monitor operational performance and financial metrics.
• Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to ensure reporting solutions align with business requirements.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting workflows using Power BI and Power Platform tools.
• Communicate analytical insights through dashboards, reports, and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards and healthcare data privacy regulations including HIPAA.
• Adhere to PwC’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct while handling sensitive client data.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI including Power Query, DAX, and dashboard development.
• Strong understanding of Power BI data modeling, including star schema design and relationship management.
• Experience optimizing reports using query folding, DAX performance tuning, and efficient dataset design.
• Experience publishing and managing dashboards in Power BI Service including workspace management, scheduled refresh, and row-level security (RLS).
• Strong experience writing SQL queries using SQL / MySQL Workbench or similar database tools.
• Ability to write joins, aggregations, subqueries, and analytical queries to analyze operational datasets.
• Hands-on experience developing dashboards using Power BI.
• Experience working with Power BI components including Power Query, DAX, and data modeling.
• Ability to transform raw datasets using Power Query for data cleansing and preparation.
• Experience creating DAX measures and calculated columns for analytics reporting.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and analytical modeling.
• Ability to interpret analytical results and translate them into business insights and recommendations.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cloud Computing or Software Engineering.
• Microsoft Power BI Certification.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
• Experience working with healthcare datasets or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) operations.
• Familiarity with Power Platform tools such as PowerApps and Power Automate.
• Exposure to AWS cloud platforms or cloud-based analytics environments.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and operational performance analysis.
• Experience collaborating with analytics and data engineering teams to deliver reporting solutions.
