Business Analyst II

Overview

Business Analyst II on the newly formed Content Strategy, Planning and Analysis team, a horizontal function working across all Content lanes to contribute to the ideation, integration, and support of structured and unstructured content for AlphaSense's AI platform and content strategy.

What you'll do

• Conduct due diligence and comparative analysis of existing and prospective content sources and partnerships to support business cases, proposals and cost-benefit analysis scenarios.
• Address ad hoc requests for data analysis and reporting, including usage, readership and coverage details across the AlphaSense content landscape and product offerings.
• Investigate and/or address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
• Run detailed data analysis to build dashboards and reporting in support of projects and programs, collaborating with the Content Team and Business Intelligence functions.
• Track, process and manage content requests in ProductBoard, and generate reports, dashboards and content presentations.
• Track new industry trends, source new content sets, and compile competitive intelligence to better inform product and content strategy.
• Rapidly get up to speed on AlphaSense, programs, processes and tools and manipulate data effectively.
• Support and identify internal process improvement opportunities by performing a gap analysis of current and future state processes and workflows, and implementing the improved target state.
• Collaborate with Content Leaders, BI Analytics, Finance and other key stakeholders on content usage trends, improvement opportunities, and ad hoc analysis for content strategy inputs.

What you'll need

• Minimum 3 or more years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis and due diligence, having worked in consulting, management, financial and corporate services industries.
• Critical thinker with attention to detail and effective organizational skills, able to manage diverse data and build effective presentations for product and content leaders with actionable suggestions to influence operational decision making.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify patterns from complex data, produce accurate conclusions, and report critical information or recommendations.
• Exceptional Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, Google Docs and Google Slides experience.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under time pressure, contribute independently, continue learning new skills, and drive tangible results.
• Bachelor's Degree in information systems, statistics, computer science, business administration or a related field.

Nice to have

• Ideally some experience with data manipulation in SQL, Python or R, and data visualization using Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
• Ideally experience in consulting, B2B SaaS and/or enterprise software application companies, with a background in financial and corporate industries.
• Excellent domain knowledge and familiarity with functions and user workflows across buy-side/sell-side, investment banking, private equity/venture capital, corporate and consulting.
• Subject-matter expertise with content feeds, metadata, and assorted document and data delivery types.
• Proactive self-starter able to develop and maintain effective working relationships across different global locations and stay focused to meet deadlines.
• Strong presentation and effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with product development frameworks such as Agile or Kanban, or process improvement methodologies such as SAFE or Six Sigma.
