Business Analyst II

Overview

The Business Analyst II joins a newly formed Content Strategy, Planning and Analysis team, working across the Content organization to ideate, integrate and support structured and unstructured content for AlphaSense's AI platform and content strategy.

What you'll do

• Conduct due diligence and comparative analysis of existing and prospective content sources and partnerships to support business cases, proposals and cost-benefit analysis scenarios.
• Address ad hoc requests for data analysis and reporting on usage, readership and coverage across the AlphaSense content landscape and product offerings.
• Support investigation and resolution of inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
• Run detailed data analysis to build dashboards and reporting for projects and programs, collaborating with Content Team and Business Intelligence functions.
• Track, process and manage content requests in ProductBoard, and generate reports, dashboards and content presentations.
• Track new industry trends, source new content sets and compile competitive intelligence to inform product and content strategy.
• Rapidly get up to speed on AlphaSense, its programs, processes and tools, and manipulate data effectively.
• Identify internal process improvement opportunities by performing gap analysis of current and future state processes and workflows, and implement the improved target state.
• Collaborate with Content Leaders, BI Analytics, Finance and other key stakeholders on content usage trends, improvement opportunities and ad hoc analysis for content strategy inputs.

What you'll need

• Minimum 3 or more years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis and due diligence.
• Experience working in consulting, management, financial or corporate services industries.
• Critical thinker with attention to detail and effective organizational skills, able to manage diverse data and build effective presentations with actionable suggestions for product and content leaders.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify patterns in complex data, produce accurate conclusions, and report critical information or recommendations.
• Exceptional Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, Google Docs and Google Slides experience.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under time pressure, contribute independently, continue learning new skills, and drive tangible results.

Nice to have

• Ideally some experience with data manipulation in SQL, Python or R, and data visualization using Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
• Ideally experience in consulting, B2B SaaS and/or enterprise software application companies, with a background in financial and corporate industries.
• Excellent domain knowledge and familiarity with functions and user workflows across buy-side/sell-side, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate and consulting.
• Subject-matter expertise with content feeds, metadata, and assorted document and data delivery types.
• Proactive self-starter able to develop and maintain effective working relationships across the wider team and different global locations, and stay focused to meet deadlines.
• Strong presentation and effective communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
• Bachelor's Degree in information systems, statistics, computer science, business administration or a related field.
• Experience with product development frameworks such as Agile or Kanban, or process improvement methodologies such as SAFE or Six Sigma.

• Reports to the Director, Content Strategy, Planning & Analysis.
• Works closely with the Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Operations and Revenue teams.
