Business Analyst – Payments

Overview

Work as a Senior Business Analyst supporting payments implementation and transformation programs, with direct Payments domain experience.

What you'll do

• Gather requirements for payments implementation and transformation programs.
• Analyze business processes for payment systems.
• Design solutions for payment systems.
• Define functional requirements, business rules, message flows, exception handling, reconciliation processes, and integration specifications for payment systems.
• Support testing for payments implementation and transformation programs.
• Manage stakeholders across payments implementation and transformation programs.
• Work with business, operations, product, and technology teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Integrate Payment Hub or Payment Orchestration platforms with upstream and downstream banking and payment systems.
• Map, validate, and transform payment messages.

What you'll need

• 6–10 years of overall experience.
• At least 4+ Years of relevant hands-on experience in the Payments domain.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in payments implementation and transformation programs.
• Direct Payments domain experience; profiles with only adjacent banking or financial services experience, without hands-on Payments expertise, will not be considered.
• Strong Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise in the Payments Domain.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end payment processing, payment lifecycle, and payment operations.
• Broad Payments domain experience beyond MT-to-MX migration projects, with exposure to Payment Hub modernization, clearing integration, and payment processing initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with Payment Hub or Payment Orchestration platforms.
• Strong understanding of payment system integrations, API/service-based architectures, and message routing/orchestration.
• Strong knowledge of payment messaging standards, including ISO 20022 (MX) and SWIFT MT message formats.
• Proven experience working with clearing schemes and payment rails such as RTGS, ACH, NACH, UPI, NEFT, FPS, SEPA, or equivalent regional clearing systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment hub products such as Finastra, FIS, Volante, Temenos, Fiserv, ACI, or similar payment processing platforms.
