Business Analyst - Payment Clearing Systems

Overview

Business Analyst role focused on payment clearing systems, covering payment flow design, ISO 20022 compliance, API message mapping and message routing across global clearing systems for an enterprise platform.

What you'll do

• Translate business goals into functional specifications and user stories for payment processing engines.
• Configure rules for domestic and cross-border rails, including ACH, Fedwire, CHIPS, SEPA (Credit Transfer/Instant), and SWIFT (MT and MX/ISO 20022).
• Design end-to-end clearing workflows, exception handling, returns, rejections, and liquidity management.
• Build data-mapping documents for legacy formats and modern ISO 20022 XML standards.

What you'll need

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience designing payment flows, ensuring ISO 20022 compliance, mapping API messages, and managing message routing across global clearing systems such as ACH, Fedwire, SEPA, and SWIFT for an enterprise platform.
• Deep understanding of clearing cycles, cut-off times, and messaging standards for ACH, wire, real-time/instant payments, and SWIFT.
• Familiarity with enterprise payment hubs, orchestration layers, and ledger posting systems.
• Knowledge of Sanctions Screening, AML, KYC, and fraud prevention hooks.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, JIRA, Confluence, SQL / NoSQL for data analysis, and Postman for API testing.
