Overview
Business Data Modeler role focused on translating business needs and domain knowledge into business object models and business data models.
What you'll do
- Engage business stakeholders and data stewards to align on processes, objectives, terminology, and information needs.
- Analyse business processes to identify key business concepts, objects, and relationships.
- Translate business knowledge into business object models and business data models.
- Improve the quality, usability, and adoption of the business data model.
- Document and maintain business definitions, relationships, and modeling standards.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and ICT colleagues to keep business concepts consistent across processes and systems.
- Support data governance by promoting consistent definitions, data ownership, and shared understanding.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in information management, Business Administration, Business Information Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience working with business processes, data analytics, information management, or business analysis.
- Strong analytical skills to understand and structure complex business processes and information.
- Understanding of data governance and related concepts such as business glossaries, data ownership, data quality, master data, or business architecture.
- Ability to identify patterns, relationships, and concepts across processes and organizational boundaries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders from different backgrounds.
Nice to have
- Experience with business analysis, information analysis, process modeling, or business object modeling.
- Familiarity with modeling techniques such as UML or BPMN.
- Awareness of Data Products, Data Mesh, or domain-oriented data ownership.
- Experience working in a complex, international organization.
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working.
- Basic SQL knowledge (beneficial, not mandatory).
