Business Functional Analyst, VP

Overview

Business and data analyst role within the TDI – RF – Reporting domain, supporting strategic data onboarding and the new Capital program, with a focus on the BFA Chapter covering Group Regulatory Reporting.

What you'll do

• Perform business and functional analysis for the Capital program and related Finance and regulatory transformation initiatives, supporting more regular, timely and enhanced capital reporting.
• Assess end-to-end current-state processes, data flows, controls, systems and governance, identifying gaps, risks, dependencies and opportunities for simplification or automation.
• Carry out high-volume, content-driven data analytics, including conceptual design and customisation of warehouse components.
• Perform business data modelling, business impact analysis and reverse engineering analysis.
• Summarise and assess data trends based on high-volume data.
• Proactively manage the investigation and resolution of month-end issues on regulatory metrics, analysing breaks and liaising with Risk and Finance Alignment teams for correction and explanation of movements.
• Define and document requirements by translating business/Risk, Finance and Treasury controls and regulatory requirements into data and system requirements, working with various teams including engineers to implement solutions.
• Partner Finance, Risk and Treasury, including Front Office systems, to analyse their requirements and translate them into business processes and data requirements.
• Work with IT to specify requirements and ensure they are technically integrated and implemented correctly.

• Detailed understanding of banking products, business content, and calculation/reporting requirements, as well as their conceptual and technical representation, including strategic data sourcing and modelling within technical reporting and calculation frameworks.

Nice to have

• Additional IT skills in SQL, Python and Power BI.
• Exposure to the risk-weighted assets calculation domain and a strong understanding of capital, financial or regulatory reporting processes.
• Practical experience of monthly, quarterly and regulatory reporting cycles and the associated data, processes, systems and controls.
• Experience in Risk Control, Accounting-related work, Treasury or Risk Banking product knowledge, and knowledge of regulatory calculations.
• A good working knowledge of front-to-back system architecture within an investment bank.
• Experience within Auditing or Investment Banking.
