Business Intelligence Analytics Engineer

Overview

Carrot is seeking a Business Intelligence Analytics Engineer to join its BI function, providing analytics support across the company by gathering requirements, handling ad hoc and recurring data requests, and building reporting dashboards that leaders rely on for decisions.

What you'll do

• Design and build data models in SQL with a focus on correctness, clarity, and reusability.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports that track key business metrics and inform decision-making across the company.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer high-priority business questions from stakeholders across the organization.
• Collaborate with teams across Carrot to understand their data domains, reporting needs, and success metrics.
• Contribute to data quality, documentation, and self-service BI capabilities as the function scales.

What you'll need

• A Bachelor's Degree.
• Intermediate-to-advanced SQL experience: ability to write advanced queries using joins, common table expressions, and window/analytic functions.
• Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Looker, DOMO, or Power BI) to bring data insights to life for broad audiences.
• Basic statistics proficiency: experiment design, hypothesis testing, statistical significance, probability, and distributions.
• Ability to translate business intelligence needs from a variety of stakeholders into technical execution and clear presentation.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience using dbt to transform, test, and document data.
• Experience working with healthcare industry data or in other complex, regulated data environments.
• Experience in a high-growth environment.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred).
• Understanding of effective data modeling strategies and implementations.

Details

• Location: Remote.
• Starting base salary range: $98,000.00 - $125,000.00.
• Interview process: Recruiter Screen (30 minutes), Hiring Manager Interview (45 minutes), Cross-Functional Panel Interviews (45 minutes), Performance Task (60 minutes).
