Buyer - Services - Africa & Middle East Countries

Overview

Buyer role for the Africa and Middle East countries, responsible for executing the purchasing process end to end and building market expertise with business entities from sourcing through to execution.

What you'll do

• Own and deliver the Source to Contract process output, from requirement specifications to signed contract.
• Educate users on the Source to Contract process and ensure adherence to it.
• Own and deliver the Request to Pay process output, from request received to PO issued.
• Educate users on the Request to Pay process and ensure adherence to it.
• Reinforce purchasing processes, practices and mindsets in the supported countries.
• Deliver purchasing savings through cost reduction and cost avoidance.
• Deliver purchasing terms of payment.
• Drive innovation with suppliers.
• Ensure payment on time.
• Drive touchless purchase orders and invoice payments.
• Deliver BEE supplier score deliverables in the Republic of South Africa.

What you'll need

• Strong English language skills.
• Microsoft Office fluency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Structured, analytical and rational thinking, using data and events as evidence.
• A learning mindset: ability to quickly learn new metier and approaches.
• Precise and concise communication, coupled with good listening.
• Assertiveness to hold your ground in defence of the process when faced with stakeholders.
• Understanding of project management basics.
• Understanding of process improvement basic principles.
• Understanding of change management basics.
• Ability to synthesize situations, then develop and systematically and autonomously deploy actions consistent with the synthesis.
• Negotiation skills.
• Stakeholder interaction across 4 different countries and cultures.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Oracle Prod 2 (UAE), Business Central (Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa), Ivalua (competitive bidding), Hermes (contract management) and PowerBI (dashboards). Training will be imparted.
• Ability to use Aurora AI, which is desirable as a selection criterion and will be expected increasingly in the future.

• Purchase families: Services domain, all families.
• Work from office expectations are consistent with the prevailing company policy, as amended from time to time.
• Travel: very occasional, maximum once per year to some of the supported countries.
