Chief Technology Officer

Overview

The Chief Technology Officer will lead technology strategy, architecture and engineering standards across the Group while staying involved in systems, architecture and engineering execution.

What you'll do

• Own architecture and major technical decisions across products and platforms.
• Review critical systems, infrastructure, architecture and code.
• Set standards for reliability, security, performance, testing and code quality.
• Identify technical debt and architecture constraints and drive resolution.
• Improve engineering productivity, development speed and production reliability.
• Decide where technology and infrastructure should be shared across businesses.
• Recruit and assess senior engineers, technical leads and engineering leaders.

What you'll need

• Deep software engineering experience building and scaling production systems.
• Strong knowledge of backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Experience making architecture decisions across multiple products or engineering teams.
• Strong technical judgement and ability to challenge implementation-level engineering decisions.
• Ability to build engineering teams.
• Ability to remain hands-on with code, architecture, incidents and difficult engineering problems.
