Overview
Create deterministic civil engineering STEM problems (and verified solutions) used to train and evaluate frontier AI models.
What you'll do
- Design advanced civil engineering problems for AI training and evaluation.
- Create problems with exactly one verifiable correct answer.
- Write complete, verified solutions and document the reasoning in English.
- Develop problems across domains like structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, transportation, construction, or infrastructure.
- Use tools (where relevant) such as Python, MATLAB, or structural analysis software to validate solutions.
- Ensure outputs are technically precise, reproducible, and well-written.
What you'll need
- Master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong research or industry experience in civil engineering subfields (e.g., structural, geotechnical, transportation, hydraulic, construction, infrastructure).
- Strong quantitative modeling and engineering problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of engineering mechanics, numerical methods, and technical standards.
- Ability to design original, difficult problems reflecting realistic civil engineering workflows.
- Excellent attention to detail and technical writing skills in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with tools such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, PLAXIS, Civil 3D, MATLAB, or Python.
- Background in structural simulation, finite element analysis, infrastructure modeling, or engineering optimization.
- Experience evaluating technical work, developing assessments, or creating engineering educational content.
