Class Actions & Proxy Analyst

Overview

Support the Class Actions and Proxy team within Institutional Investment Management Operations in Pune, India, by monitoring and analyzing class action and proxy voting events and providing middle and back-office support.

What you'll do

• Provide the primary QC checking function for onshore PMG activities related to Class Actions.
• Verify meetings voted by the Proxy Manager and confirm accuracy against third-party research, advisement emails and the AB Proxy Manual, then approve them.
• Quality check AB proxy voting guidelines against third-party research.
• Manage a daily workflow for class actions and proxy responsibilities, including resolving private client inquiries.
• Ensure ad-hoc, monthly and quarterly voting reports are submitted on time.
• Report daily on unvoted proxy meetings.
• Provide subject matter expertise for the team and identify key process issues such as errors.
• Ensure end-to-end process flows and procedure guides are in place for the team.
• Deliver process training for new joiners to build a team knowledge bank.
• Proactively anticipate and resolve process queries, or escalate them in a timely manner.
• Assist process leaders in driving key initiatives, such as identifying process improvements.

What you'll need

• 4-year undergraduate degree, preferably in a business-related discipline.
• 2 years of work experience in a function that involves some financial analysis.
• Understanding of Corporate Actions, Proxy voting and Class Actions.
• Understanding of Capital Markets.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel tools and functions.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work well in a team setting and handle changes with a positive outlook.
• Motivated and self-disciplined, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

• Previous role or internship working in financial services.
• A keen interest in learning and improving financial operations.
