Clearing and Settlement Analyst

Overview

Support day-to-day trade processing, settlements, FX and cash processing for local and offshore clients within the Securities & Custody Operations team supporting GTB Investor Services.

What you'll do

• Coordinate team activities related to trade processing and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain processing quality and quantity in line with client SLAs.
• Monitor volume inflow and ensure sufficient resource and workflow allocation in a justifiable manner.
• Serve as a technical operational expert for queries from clients and team members.
• Build a strong mechanism to manage volume peaks during peak season.
• Ensure closure of tasks within prescribed SLAs.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal and external process guidelines, including compliance and legal requirements, to maintain a robust control environment.
• Identify operational risks proactively and mitigate them appropriately.
• Ensure adequate backups are created for all critical positions.
• Assist other teams during contingencies, including staff shortages and high volumes.
• Work closely with process owners, stakeholders and other internal clients for the overall growth of the bank's business.
• Handle BAU FX and cash processing for offshore and local clients.
• Handle FX and regulatory reporting for the India market.
• Perform break analysis and escalations and follow up with stakeholders.
• Independently interact with internal and external parties and stay aware of regulatory changes.

What you'll need

• Graduate qualification such as BA, BS or B.Com.
• 5 to 8 year experience in the relevant field.
• Strong analytical skills.

• Solid interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimize workflows to solve business problems.
• Ability to apply critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Nice to have

• Exposure to the Indian capital markets, settlements or a custody background.

• Location: Pune, India.
• The role reports to the VP – Deputy Head Securities & Custody Operations and is guided by them on strategic issues and compliance.
• The role supports local and offshore clients of GTB Investor Services.
