Clinical Programmer II (DMSAS)

Overview

Clinical Programmer II (DMSAS) role at Syneos Health, responsible for clinical programming and SAS-based data management deliverables across clinical studies.

What you'll do

• Utilize primary development tools including Oracle RDC, Oracle Inform, Medidata, Rave, SAS, and other supporting tools to design, write, validate, and maintain software to meet specifications in a timely and productive manner following standard development procedures.
• Generate and maintain all required documentation, including specifications, coding, and validation efforts in support of annotated Case Report Forms (CRFs), database creation, coding configuration, edit check procedures, import and export setup and processing, listings, and custom reports.
• Serve on project teams to coordinate and lead development activities for clinical programming projects, and keep project management informed of issues affecting target dates, scope, or budget.
• Ensure quality deliverables by reviewing study level core deliveries for accuracy and attending sponsor audits.
• Review and provide input on study budgets and monitor scope of work against actual work, alerting management of potential change orders.
• Provide leadership, training, guidance, and support to other department members based on expertise in specific skill sets.
• Collaborate with clients, peers, lead programmers, project teams and/or requestors to clarify and finalize specifications.
• Assist in project review meetings and departmental review meetings.
• Attend Quick Start Camps (QSCs) as the lead clinical programmer for assigned studies.
• Lead clinical programming activities on up to eight (8) concurrent studies depending upon scope, similarity, program, and resourcing requirements.
• Manage project resources, proactively alerting management of delivery and resourcing needs.
• Maintain broad overall knowledge of clinical programming and clinical data management through literature, self-training, training classes, and professional meetings.

What you'll need

• Minimum 2 to 4+ years of experience in Clinical Programming, DM SAS, and Listings, and understanding of specifications.
• Experience performing QC or VCP of Listings.
• Ability to understand SAS macros and support Lead Programmers.
• Strong Data Management (DM) SAS experience.
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Base and Advanced SAS certification.
