Cloud/Big Data Engineer

Overview

Cloud/Big Data Engineer role in an Agile team building backend data applications and services for TransUnion analytics platforms. Hybrid position with both virtual and in-person work at an assigned TU office location for at least two days per week.

What you'll do

• Build and deliver backend data applications and services supporting analytics platforms.
• Deploy and implement analytics environments including software, end-user tools, and data services.
• Collaborate with product owners and team members on requirements and implementation approaches.
• Design and develop tools and services for end-user productivity and system integrations.
• Troubleshoot issues, manage capacity, and plan optimization and environment expansion.
• Support system availability and quality, and participate in innovation activities like evaluation and prototyping.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in a software development profession.
• Experience with cloud technologies, tooling, and workflows.
• Proficiency in GCP tools, specifically BigQuery and Data Proc.
• Proficiency in big data technologies: Hadoop, Spark, Scala, and Hive.
• Experience with Java (basic coding and design).
• Proficiency in Python coding (preferable).
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling for relational and non-relational databases.
