Cloud Engineer, Specialist

Overview

Provides expert-level technical support for the most critical cloud projects, troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues for new and existing technologies, and developing technical standards and documentation.

What you'll do

• Plan and implement new technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprise-wide IT cloud platform projects.
• Design, implement and deploy cloud computing systems to support and meet business needs.
• Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
• Provide expert-level technical support and ensure reliable operation of cloud production.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot the most complex issues for cloud computing systems on multiple platforms.
• Maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.
• Develop technical standards.
• Test and evaluate IT vendor products.
• Review configuration parameters to optimize system performance and maximize operation uptime.
• Elevate code into the development, test and production environments on schedule, provide follow-up production support, and submit change control requests and documents.
• Learn and understand client business functions and requirements, and determine the appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs.
• Train and mentor more junior staff on processes and technologies, and troubleshoot and resolve the most complex issues elevated from staff.
• Update, write and maintain documentation for the department.
• Administer system activities, write the technical portion of assigned deliverables, and perform systems analysis including system requirements analysis and definition and logical design.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure security and compliance, including disaster recovery and backup strategies.
• Monitor and manage hybrid cloud environments and use automation to optimize deployment and scaling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable cloud solutions aligned with business needs.
• Maintain clear and updated documentation on cloud architecture and system configurations.

What you'll need

• Minimum 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or cloud operations.
• Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT) or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on expertise with GitHub, Bitbucket/Bamboo, CI/CD and pipeline development.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS, cloud platform development and cloud application development.
• Tech Lead experience, being able to informally coach and lead engineers/developers.
• Scrum/Agile methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in cloud infrastructure, networking, security best practices and performance optimization.
