Cloud Native Full stack Java Developer

Overview

SAP Fioneer is looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to join its product development team and build cloud-native financial software.

What you'll do

• Execute software development based on the reviewed design and conduct thorough developer tests to uphold code quality.
• Perform testing on newly developed software during the internal test phase (functional integration test) and promptly address any identified issues.
• Take responsibility for resolving issues in the software discovered during internal and external tests to ensure a smooth deployment process.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues in both existing and new code, applying strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrate excellent development, quality, and delivery skills within the project team, actively contributing to short development and release cycles.
• Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination for successful project outcomes.
• Implement and adhere to agile software engineering methods, participating in the complete software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, quality assurance and documentation.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, back-end developers, and business analysts to translate design concepts and business requirements into functional web applications.
• Create responsive and user-friendly interfaces that work seamlessly on various devices and browsers.
• Conduct unit testing and debugging to identify and fix issues in the code.

What you'll need

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Engineering or comparable qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs on the backend.
• Strong hands-on experience in server-side Java development.
• Strong development experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, EclipseLink, SOAP, REST APIs, Microservices, and OData.
• Sound knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript (ES6), CSS, JSON, and XML.
• Working experience on a UI development framework such as React.js, Angular, or UI5 using the MVC pattern.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of design patterns, data structures and algorithms.
• Understanding of functional and object-oriented paradigms, applied effectively in software development.
• Experience in conducting unit testing and debugging.
• Tooling exposure in Eclipse and Visual Studio Code.

Nice to have

• Cloud native development experience on platforms such as Azure, AWS, or OpenShift (OpenShift preferable).
• Experience in financial or banking systems.
