Overview
Design, develop, and implement controls and monitoring panels for power transformers to support optimal performance and reliability.
What you'll do
- Develop and refine detailed controls designs, including hardware and software specifications, for power transformers.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers to integrate control systems.
- Develop and support functional testing plans for new control cabinets, including on-site startup, calibration, and performance tuning.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing control panels, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in controls engineering and propose and implement innovative solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, including functional specifications, test plans, and work instructions.
- Participate in design reviews and provide expert feedback to ensure designs meet project requirements, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Travel to other Hitachi factories when required.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Automation Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 4+ years of experience in controls or panel design, programming, and implementation in an industrial environment.
- Experience with electrical design software, such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
- Solid knowledge of electrical schematics, PID control, and motor control principles.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Basic knowledge of IEEE, UL508, and NFPA70 standards.
- Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols, such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and Modbus TCP/IP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
