Control Systems Engineer

Overview

Control Systems Engineer supporting process control systems in renewable diesel assets at Chevron’s Facilities Process Engineering team in Bengaluru.

What you'll do

• Provide alarm management support including alarm rationalization, KPI review, and lifecycle activities.
• Monitor controller performance and recommend actions to improve controller effectiveness and stability.
• Troubleshoot and support PID loop tuning using process data and documentation.
• Review and validate control strategy elements including control narratives, cause-and-effect, and interlocks.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) and change control inputs, affected documentation, and validation needs.
• Prepare technical documentation and recommendations, including redlines, technical notes, and marked-up control documents.

What you'll need

• 6 to 14 years of experience supporting process control, control systems, or automation engineering in relevant facilities.
• Hands-on experience with distributed control systems, safety systems, or PLC-based control platforms.
• Working knowledge of MOC, change control, testing, validation, commissioning support, and documentation for control changes.
• Ability to interpret process data, trends, control narratives, operating procedures, P&IDs, cause-and-effect logic, and alarm documentation.
• Strong written communication skills for concise, structured, technically clear engineering deliverables.
• Ability to work with remote site teams across time zones while maintaining disciplined follow-up.

Details

• Based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
• Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, either 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
• Work hours may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
