Overview
Process Monitoring and Optimization Engineer supporting biodiesel and renewable diesel process units through monitoring, analysis, and technical assurance.
What you'll do
- Conduct daily and periodic monitoring of biodiesel and renewable diesel process units for stability, yields, efficiency, and constraints.
- Monitor and analyze key parameters covering feedstock variability, catalyst performance, reaction severity, separation, and product quality.
- Develop and standardize process monitoring methodologies, dashboards, and analytics used across facilities.
- Perform engineering analysis for mass/energy balances, yield accounting, loss identification, and performance trending.
- Build and maintain monitoring and data analytics tools (e.g., PI, SEEQ, Power BI or similar) to support decisions.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting upset conditions, performance deviations, control issues, and data anomalies.
- Participate in HAZOP, MOC, and process safety reviews focused on operability and loss prevention.
What you'll need
- 5–10+ years of process engineering or operations support experience in relevant process industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Proficiency with process monitoring, data analysis, and visualization tools such as PI, SEEQ, Power BI, Pro II, Hysys, or HTRI.
- Ability to communicate effectively with operations, technical teams, and leadership across multiple assets.

- Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
