CPW Data Steward I

Overview

CPW Data Steward I is an associate data analyst role on the data engineering team, responsible for global product data mapping and harmonisation across markets to support one consolidated global data warehouse.

What you'll do

• Own and execute product mapping and harmonization across multiple markets, categories, brands and data sources.
• Standardize product names, attributes, hierarchies and classifications according to global data standards.
• Analyze product information from different sources and determine the appropriate global product classification.
• Identify and resolve mapping inconsistencies, duplicates, missing attributes and data quality issues.
• Ensure newly introduced products are accurately mapped and incorporated into the global product framework.
• Contribute to scalable processes and continuous improvement of the global product data framework.
• Act as a subject matter expert for product-level data.
• Perform quality checks and investigate anomalies before data is released for downstream reporting and analytics.
• Identify recurring data quality issues and work with Data Engineering, vendors and market teams to address root causes.
• Maintain mapping rules, reference data and business logic to ensure consistency over time.
• Monitor and improve mapping accuracy, completeness and coverage across markets.
• Develop a strong understanding of product categories, brands, pack formats, product types and relevant business terminology.
• Apply business context and judgement for recommendations when product information is incomplete, ambiguous or inconsistent, keeping stakeholders in the loop.
• Understand how mapping decisions impact downstream analytics, reporting and business insights.
• Work closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, local market teams, vendors and other data stakeholders on product classifications for ambiguous or complex cases.
• Communicate mapping decisions, data issues and recommended resolutions clearly.
• Support investigations into discrepancies between local and global product data.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in data stewardship or data quality.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Ability to interpret complex data and product information and make sound mapping decisions.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and proactively identify issues.
• Pragmatic and solution-driven mindset.
• Learning agility to understand data from a business lens.
• Effective team player.

Nice to have

• Experience with FMCG/CPG, retail, consumer or product data.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms.
