Overview
The Credit Risk Analyst identifies, mitigates and eliminates fraud and credit losses to Fiserv and its clients by investigating potentially high-risk or suspicious merchant processing activity.
What you'll do
- Make real-time decisions to identify situations requiring deeper investigation and identify emerging fraud trends.
- Coordinate risk mitigation and fraud remediation efforts with Funding, Legal, Operations, Client Services and other areas of the business.
- Communicate regularly with internal and external partners to present high-risk activity with recommended and/or required actions.
- Review many accounts in a fast-paced environment to identify potentially high-risk or suspicious merchant processing activity and protect the firm against financial loss.
- Review and investigate merchant accounts to assess fraud and credit risk exposure.
- Negotiate collateral requirements and restructuring terms as required.
- Resolve merchant inquiries through scheduled calls.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Read and interpret documents.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions.
- Interact effectively and positively with all levels of personnel, partners and vendors.
- Work independently or in a team environment and work efficiently in stressful situations.
What you'll need
- 2-year degree with prior work experience.
- 2 years prior customer service experience or 1 year Fraud & Risk Experience.
- Ability to use programs such as Excel and Word.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Be a detailed and organized individual.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
- 1-year prior credit risk experience.
- Experience with MasterCard and Visa Association rules and regulations.
- Customer Service experience with a track record of dealing in adverse situations.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
