Cubist Senior Data Scientist

Overview

Senior Data Scientist role in Point72’s Cubist Data Services team, focused on delivering reliable research and production data/derived products for systematic portfolio management.

What you'll do

• Onboard novel datasets from a variety of sources into the platform.
• Build processes, tools, and frameworks to ingest, clean, and deliver datasets.
• Analyze data for usability, cleanliness, and feature extraction.
• Create in-house derived data products for investment teams.
• Engage with vendors and internal stakeholders to understand dataset characteristics.
• Research new technologies (including AI solutions) to improve data management and value-add.

What you'll need

• Have a PhD or Masters in Financial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative disciplines.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role.
• Experience working with large data sets including predictive modeling.
• Strong organization, communication, interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Linux, and Airflow.
• Financial industry experience.
