Custom Software Engineer

Overview

Develop and enhance custom Java full-stack software solutions, including scalable web services and distributed systems. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical design, architecture, mentoring, and cross-functional delivery.

What you'll do

• Prepare technical design specifications from functional requirements.
• Implement, test, maintain, and support software solutions.
• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of scalable web services.
• Improve existing codebases and conduct peer code reviews.
• Investigate and apply relevant technologies.
• Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years of Java Full Stack Development experience.
• 15 years of full-time education.
• Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD, and DevOps technologies.
• Experience developing and debugging distributed, mission-critical, low-latency systems.
• Understanding of unit, functional, performance, and test-driven development practices.
• Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases and cloud big-data systems.

Nice to have

• Experience building front ends with React.
• Experience integrating with event buses such as Pulsar.
• Experience with cloud-based big-data solutions such as Snowflake.
• Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
