Custom Software Engineer

Overview

Lead custom software engineering for scalable backend and BFF applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS. The role covers technical design, API development, cloud integration, production support, stakeholder management, and developer mentoring.

What you'll do

• Design and develop backend and BFF services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs for catalog, metadata, entitlement, playback, and device management.
• Integrate AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Kinesis.
• Lead feature delivery from design through deployment.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Provide technical guidance, effort estimates, and risk assessments.
• Mentor developers and collaborate with stakeholders.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years of experience.
• At least 8 years of relevant Node.js and AWS experience.
• Node.js, TypeScript, RESTful API, and GraphQL development skills.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS application development and listed AWS services.
• Experience with testing, CI/CD, Docker, and infrastructure as code.
• 15 years of full-time education.

Nice to have

• Experience with OTT, streaming, broadcast, or digital media platforms.
• Experience with HLS, DASH, DRM, SSAI, CDN, or video-on-demand technologies.
• AWS Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience in Agile, DevOps, and cloud-native environments.
