Customer Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure - Hyderabad, India

Overview

Operate and improve the cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters supporting Astronomer's managed Airflow service. This customer-facing role focuses on incident response, observability, automation, and reliable customer operations.

What you'll do

• Provide solutions and guidance to customers using Astronomer products.
• Troubleshoot customer environments and triage issues with customers.
• Build monitoring and alerting systems.
• Build and maintain automation for daily operational tasks.
• Prioritize and resolve customer issues, meet SLAs, and support production readiness.
• Enhance customer documentation and provide product feedback.
• Participate in pager coverage and paid weekend on-call rotation.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience with complex cloud infrastructures operating at scale.
• 2+ years of Kubernetes experience.
• Production distributed-systems experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong networking and Linux experience.
• Experience operating and monitoring distributed systems.
• Experience with observability tools, customer issues, DevOps or CI/CD, and Python scripting.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Site Reliability Engineering experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes Custom Resources.
• Airflow or big-data orchestration experience.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience.

• Location: Hyderabad, India.
• Hybrid work model with at least 3 days per week in the Hyderabad office.
• Includes a specified 6-hour pager period during the workday and paid weekend on-call rotation.
