Data Analyst

Overview

Data Analyst to design data architectures and automation support for regional and global GE Vernova Consulting Services teams, transforming power system datasets into actionable insights.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines for high-frequency grid data ingestion and transformation.
• Develop Python scripts to automate extraction of simulation results from production cost and capacity expansion models.
• Manage PostgreSQL relational database schemas and implement data-lake architectures for time-series data.
• Create interactive dashboards using Power BI or Tableau for decision-makers.
• Apply Power BI capabilities (including Copilot/AI agents) to produce reports.
• Collaborate with power systems engineers to connect simulation outputs with front-end visualization.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python-based automation.
• Database management proficiency (PostgreSQL or similar).
• End-to-end ELT workflow building experience.
• Expertise in Power BI, including advanced data modeling and Direct Query/Import strategy management.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of power market modelling and simulation tools (e.g., PlanOS or similar).
• Proficiency in cloud data environments (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
