Data Analyst

Overview

Work as a detail-oriented and highly curious researcher supporting the expansion, integrity and comprehensiveness of 451 Research’s M&A Knowledgebase. Gather, validate, summarize and process acquisition and funding data about technology companies using external online research sources and internal sources.

What you'll do

• Process data and apply it accurately to the database using 451 Research standards.
• Source and validate announced transactions to determine coverage using data derived from multiple sources.
• Deliver on pre-defined daily deal entry deadlines for newsletter publishing with quality and efficiency.
• Build industry knowledge by understanding industry technology and M&A trends.
• Provide input and ideas for new and optimized methods and improvements related to the daily workflow.
• Troubleshoot problems or issues and provide support to the team.
• Gather, summarize and synthesize meaningful information from press releases, newswires, company websites, government and regulatory documents, 451 analyst reports, CapIQ and Market Intelligence.
• Write crisp and clear summaries of companies and their products and process transaction data.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• High level of organization and self-direction.
• Excellent online research capabilities.
• Excellent written communications skills.
• Strong desire to learn more about technology and finance.
• Good understanding of public and private company financial data.
• Willingness to work in rotational and later shifts while working with a team also located in the United States.

Nice to have

• An advanced degree in a related field.
• Prior experience related to technology and/or finance research.
• Proficiency in using MS Office, PathFinder and Celsus.
