Overview
Design, implement, and optimize controls systems supporting global datacenter infrastructure and high-density AI compute environments.
What you'll do
- Design multi-site controls architectures, network topologies, redundancy, and high-availability requirements.
- Develop communication frameworks using BACnet, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC-UA, MQTT, and SNMP.
- Implement controls for mechanical, electrical, and building management systems.
- Develop SCADA/BMS applications and telemetry dashboards.
- Select instrumentation for liquid cooling, power distribution, and environmental monitoring.
- Integrate controls standards into construction projects and validate systems during commissioning.
- Produce P&IDs, control narratives, sequences of operation, and commissioning procedures.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in industrial automation, building automation, or datacenter controls.
- Experience with instrumentation selection, control panel design, and controls integration.
- Working knowledge of subnets, VLANs, firewall rules, and IP management.
- Strong documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in datacenter, critical facilities, or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience with liquid cooling systems, including CDUs and CDMs.
- Experience with Ignition, Niagara/Tridium, Wonderware, or similar BMS/SCADA platforms.
- Database integration, Python or scripting, and multi-site redundant controls deployment experience.
- PE license or Schneider, Rockwell, or Siemens certifications.

- Location: San Francisco, California, United States.
- Remote-friendly with travel required.
- Staff are expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time.
- Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD.
