Overview
Data Center Structural Engineer to support modular data center product lines (Galleon and Leviathan), owning the structural scope from early site due diligence through design, certification, fabrication, and installation.
What you'll do
- Identify, vet, and coordinate domestic/international structural engineering vendors and certifying engineers for each active site.
- Perform early-stage structural due diligence by assessing seismic, wind, snow, and soil risks and mapping jurisdiction/code requirements.
- Develop and maintain standardized, repeatable structural design templates (e.g., raised platforms, ISO connections, foundations/pads, anchorage, piping supports).
- Conduct in-house structural analysis and design for new products and first-of-a-kind sites before handing off for jurisdictional review.
- Serve as structural point of contact through fabrication, installation, and commissioning by reviewing shop drawings and integration details.
- Build and maintain structural governance documentation, certification workflows, and provide final structural sign-off for readiness.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field).
- Professional Engineer (PE or SE) license or international equivalent (e.g., Chartered Engineer).
- 5–7 years of hands-on structural analysis and design experience for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis/design software and building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI).
- Ability to work with international structural codes (e.g., NCC, Eurocode) across multiple countries and load conditions.
- Ability to travel approximately 20–30% to project sites, fabrication facilities, and construction locations.
- Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy.
