Data Engineer

Overview

Build, maintain, and validate reusable analytical data assets that support reporting, self-service analytics, dashboards, AI-assisted insights, and business decisions. Translate business and reporting needs into governed analytical models and reusable data solutions with guidance from senior team members.

What you'll do

• Build reusable analytical datasets, metric logic, semantic layer objects, explores, dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Translate business questions and reporting requirements into data models, measures, dimensions, and semantic components.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
• Document metric definitions, business logic, mappings, transformations, lineage, assumptions, and limitations.
• Test, deploy, monitor, and optimize analytical data assets and integrations.
• Partner with Analytics, Product, Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to resolve data and reporting issues.
• Support self-service analytics, dashboard rationalization, metric governance, and AI-assisted analytics.

What you'll need

• 2 years of experience in data, business intelligence, platform engineering, data warehousing/ETL, or software engineering.
• 2 years of expertise in object-oriented or structured programming, SQL, and scripting.
• 2 years of experience with big data and cloud big data technologies.
• 1 year of experience implementing solutions through software development life cycles.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with complex or unstructured data in a retail environment.
• Experience with enterprise databases, cloud data platforms, semantic layers, reporting tools, or data transformation technologies.
