Data Engineer III

Overview

Data Engineer III role focused on designing, implementing, and improving data pipelines and data/warehousing architecture.

What you'll do

• Oversee technology choices and implementations for data pipelines and warehousing.
• Lead or serve as SME on cross-organizational data pipeline and automation projects.
• Promote technical best practices across the data organization.
• Design data architecture to be simple, maintainable, and usable by data teams.
• Mentor data team members on architecture and coding techniques.
• Ensure reliability in data pipelines and enforce data governance, security, and protection.
• Design ETL and streaming-based data pipelines using ETL and event-driven tools.

What you'll need

• Technical Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree (degree level not further specified) with 4+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Extensive hands-on data engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt.
• Experience with tools including Jira, git, buildkite, Terraform, and containers, plus GCP suite.
• Understanding of ETL patterns, data warehousing concepts (data mesh/data vaulting), and data quality practices.
• Comfort switching between high-level architecture and low-level coding.
