Data Engineer III

Overview

Data Engineer III responsible for overseeing data pipeline and warehousing implementations and leading cross-organizational data engineering work.

What you'll do

• Oversee technological choices and implementation of data pipelines and the warehousing philosophy.
• Lead or serve as an SME on cross-organizational and cross-divisional projects, including automating data value chain processes.
• Design data architecture that is simple and maintainable for data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders.
• Design data pipelines using ETL tools, event-driven software, and streaming software.
• Ensure reliability in data pipelines and enforce data governance, security, and protection of customer information while balancing tech debt.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to design data models for downstream data maximization.

What you'll need

• Technical Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience in data engineering (data pipelining, warehousing, ETL tools).
• Hands-on data engineering experience using Python and SQL.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt.
• Expertise with data engineering tooling including Jira, git, buildkite, Terraform, and containers.
• Working knowledge of GCP suite, Terraform, and Kubernetes (also mentions cloud functions).
• Understanding of standard ETL patterns and data quality practices including test-driven design and data observability.
